Blog: P2P

- File sharing is being able to transmit files from one computer to another over a network/internet.
- P2P file sharing is when a computer acts as a server and is able to allow access to files to other computers without the need of a central server.
- An example of P2P file sharing is BitTorrent which is a P2P program. The article The BitTorrent Effect states, "BitTorrent lets users quickly upload and download enormous amounts of data, files that are hundreds or thousands of times bigger than a single MP3"(https://www.wired.com/2005/01/bittorrent-2/). Which shows, the capability of a Peer-to-peer filesharing program; where many users can find and download the software/files they need provided by other users. BitTorrent, leads to many illegal downloads of pirated software and movies because of the ease of P2P filesharing.
